Every time Wati’s chatbot gets triggered, it **uses up one Monthly Chatbot Session**. Each plan has a fixed monthly pool. **Hit the cap**,and **your bot stops until you upgrade**, and you buy more sessions. If you run live campaigns or support flows, this can stall conversations at the worst time. To buy as less as **1000 additional sessions**, businesses have to **pay additional $30**! Businesses that ignore this **later regret** when the real costs stack up.

What a Monthly Chatbot Session means?

- A session is counted each time your chatbot is triggered.

- The reset follows your billing start date, not the calendar month.

Example, plan starts on the 18th, your counter resets on the 18th.

## Session Limits by Wati plan

What happens at the cap?

- The chatbot stops triggering.

- Your choices, upgrade, buy add-on sessions, or wait for the next billing reset.

- Email alerts arrive at 80%, 90%, and 100% so you can act in time.

## Add-on Monthly Chatbot Sessions

If you need more, Wati sells extra sessions as a subscription that follows your base billing cycle. Many businesses ignore this but this can **shoot up your WhatsApp marketing costs multi-fold**.

## Quick answers

- Does a session count if the user never replies? **Yes**, the moment the bot triggers.

- Can you upgrade mid-cycle? **Yes**, it raises your limit, but it does not reset the counter.

- Can you download a usage report, live tracking is available, but **no download option**.

- When does the counter reset? On your plan start date each month.

If you run support, high-intent campaigns, or seasonal promos, **a hard cap can cost you missed chats and lost revenue**. Heltar helps you plan capacity, tracks what matters, and keeps your automation running when traffic surges. Wati’s Monthly Chatbot Sessions are easy to grasp, but the cap can pause your bot right when demand rises. If you want simple planning, steady automation, and quick human help when it matters, move to Heltar.
